Just a few weeks ago, my friend Taylor who is part of Bixby + Pine reached out to me to see if I wanted to be involved in a mini styled shoot up in Seattle.  Of course I said yes!  She had told me about this gorgeous studio and from what I'd seen online, I wanted to get in on that action for sure!  So we planned the day and when I say plan, Taylor planned everything.  I just showed up with my camera!  Haha, so easy!  We decided to schedule this day so that I would also do an Instagram TAKEOVER on their business account!  This was extra special and fun because Taylor and I had not yet officially met in person yet.  We had countless emails, messages, and FaceTime calls, but never in person until this past Friday!

It's hard to put into words what having an "e-friend" is like when it feels like you've actually known each other forever.  We just instantly hit it off and I knew I'd found my tribe to not only be my new friends, but event planners going forward with all my fun stuff planned for this year and beyond with my workshops!

Anyway, I also knew that Lora with Lora Grady Photography would be modeling for me!  She was a dream and so much fun to work with!  So down to earth and easy going!  We danced, laughed, and even swapped some head shots!  It's hard to get in FRONT of the camera sometimes as a photographer, but it's important!  I love any chance I can get to get some updated head shots and I know Lora appreciates her new ones that I took, too!  I'll share those on a different blog post soon!

Anyway, I walked into this gorgeous downtown Seattle studio and immediately felt at home.

If you follow along with me you know that I love white and bright!  My house is very white and I just can't get enough of that style.  So when they opened the doors to this space my heart exploded!  It was even more amazing in person than I anticipated which is always a wonderful surprise as a photographer.

I quickly got to work photographing some details!  I kept having those quiet little moments of "Oh my gosh, is this real life?"  I couldn't get over this space.  As many of you know, I live down in Southwest Washington on the Willapa Bay.  We run a cattle ranch here and in the next few years my Husband and I will be building our forever home.  We aren't there yet, but we will be before we know it!  It's my dream to have a studio off of my house to do what I love.  I struggle with indoor locations in our area because sometimes (okay, most of the time), it's raining here.  I don't want to have to reschedule sessions anymore and I want to create a space just like this to bring clients and make new memories.  White walls, white floors, a white bed, and I'd invest in a gorgeous little couch and chair for a subtle pop of color.  I'd keep the space mainly empty and only use it for pictures and future workshops.  I need a space just like this with plenty of room to move around, tall ceilings and big windows.  Being in this studio makes me so excited for the future and having my own space like this to do what I love the most.

Lora was a breath of fresh air!

The past few months have been insane.  Good, but insane nonetheless.  Working with Taylor and Lora on this mini shoot was the breath of fresh air that I needed to regroup and prepare myself for a very busy summer and fall full of weddings and travel!  I was already super excited for my upcoming wedding season, but this was the icing on the cake to REALLY get me pumped up.  I have some incredible couples this year and look forward to all the memories that are yet to be made.

Without further ado, here are the images from the styled shoot! I hope you love them as much as I do!  Lora was a dream to photograph!  We had so much fun together and I'm always grateful to meet new friends in this industry.  And of course it was beyond special and exciting to finally meet Taylor and hug her in person!  We have a fun year ahead!  Enjoy!
